Atty. Emil Marañon III specializes on automated election litigation and advising. He is one of the country’s rising election lawyers with eight (8) years of solid election experience. Under the tutelage of the eminent election lawyer Sixto Brillantes Jr., he practiced in almost all election tribunals, from Municipal Trial Courts, Regional Trial Courts, COMELEC, House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET) and the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), handling clients which included some of the country’s most prominent politicians including former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino Jr., President Rodrigo Duterte (then Vice Mayor in 2010) and Vice President Jejomar Binay. He also served at the COMELEC for five (5) years, serving as the Chief of Staff of former Chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. where he gained extensive and insider knowledge of the intricacies of the automated election system. Presently, he is one of the election lawyers of Vice President Leni Robredo, handling her protest case before the PET. He also writes opinion pieces and explainer for Rappler on different election issues.

Atty. Marañon is graduate of the San Beda College of Law in Mendiola, Manila. Through the United Kingdom’s prestigious Chevening Scholarship program, he earned his Master of Laws (LLM) with Merit at the renowned University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in England.
